here's some tips

- don't get frustrated. The learning transition from PvE to PvP is massive, more than most care to remember. It takes time, patience, but it is so much freakin' fun you won't believe it.

- as soon as you find someone you like, ask them if you can put them on friends list. Once yuo have a few friends that play during the same time as you, you will get so awesome, so quick, you'll be the awesomest of all

- play multiple professions, 2 or 3 while you're beginning, and unlock skills carefully in accordance with the more common builds. Don't be unlocking rubbish like skull crack or dolyak signet - you'll never typically use this stuff.

- get a mic. No mic = no play these days. I can't stand ppl that don't talk. PPl shouldn't talk much in game, but whenever they do, it is generally very important. So you need it. Also yuo're trying to meet in-game friends, and enjoy their company while playing - and it's far easier talking to do it. You;ll have a harder time getting on a friends list without one.

@ glenn - I understand everything you said , except the third point. care to elaborate? ill try getting a mic. multiple professions , you mean in PvP , to alternate my free slot and gain faction to unlock more skills? or does it mean something else?
@Yanman - Sorry for logging on you last night , but if Hero wants me , as I've said , anyone willing to take me in is blessed. Please leave a msg if I am invited.

AFAIK, he was referring to unlocking stuff in PvE to equip yourself with knowledge of the game and a broad spectrum of skills that actually benefit you.

I'll help you learn how to PvP anyway I can. PM me in game sometime and I'll help you out with builds and basic PvP concepts such as positioning and such. My IGN is Heal Dot.

Here's a few tips:

Do your research, pick a build and choose a class you want to play within it. (I'd say IWAY imo). Play competition arenas using your unlocked PVE existing skills to unlock the skills you need.

Go into Hero's and tag onto to random PUG (pick up groups). If they don't say "emote R3/R6/R9" just invite yourself in.

Learn your trade, grind it out to R3 and build up a contact list of players you've teamed up with along the way.

Spend a lot of time in observer mode. You can learn an incredible amount about tombs, builds and tactics.

Enjoy playing PVP and don't get too angry and bitter about losing.

After countless trys and no successes (btw ium 19 fame! xD)
I have decided to open my own guild - Please welcome Poor Vantage Point [PvP]
Into the house of guilds. What I am going to try to do with this guild is basically get as many people as possible into it , so that whenever you need a HoH team (particularly) or a GvG team (we might do this in the future) You can just ask in your guild chat for it. This guild has NO experience NO promises , NO nothing. I aim to start out with basic builds common in these days , and after getting comfortable and unlocking most skills for everyone via faction to start making our own builds (we'll need good minds for that!)
Everyone is welcome , from r0 to r10 , from fame 32 to fame 15000.
If experienced players are willing to come and help lead/PvP in general , I will be very grateful. I believe this could be an experience for everyone , and I invite everyone to join this guild. Atm I just made cape , will get Hall in next few days , make a forum (or a actualy web if any programmers/designers join us) and a TS/vent server that i will try to acquire. Most people joining now will be made officers temporarily untill I find the ones who are leaders from whoever joins. Please contact me ingame at Lorven Dragontooth or The Iron Angel , or just post here to get an invite. Thanks in advance!
